She was George & Mary's daughter, however, she was certainly raised by Daniel & Eliza, and in 1880, they list her as daughter. She may have been adopted by her grandparents, following George's death, and Mary's re-marriage, but she listed George and Mary as her parents when she married in 1882. In 1900, Mary indicates she had had two children, one still living. Not totally certain this Ada from the 1885 census is the same. She did marry Edwin E. Smith in 1882, however. |
