John Swales Sr.

John was listed as a widower when married to Mary Davis in 1824. A John Swales & Ann Spicer were married in Hessle, a year before John's birth, so possible parents, but no record found of his birth registration or christening. In favor of this view, two of John's children were named John & Ann, and Mary's brother was named Benjamin.
