Notes:
Monument just has 19(--) engraved, so possibly not buried there.
I'm not certain that I have the right folks for John's parent, however
the name and age are close, and both these Callens and the Smiths lived
in Cortland County, and the Callens migrated to Oswego.
In the 1910 census, John's middle initial appears to be B. or D., as
in the early census with his parents. In 1880, the son of James Callen
is listed as John, in Oswego. Interestingly, they lived right down
the street from William Welbourne, in Oswego.
There is a creek called Callan Creek
near Preble, where these Callens lived. Preble would have been on the
main northbound route from Cortlandville where the Smiths lived.

He seems to have had another daughter, Mrs. Albert Wollridge, at the
 time of his death.
