Margaret Swale | |
Gender: Female Brickwall: Uncertain: Children: Ann Swale,Mary Swale Born: C.1785 Died: Before 18 Apr 1836 Buried: 18 Apr 1836, Swainby, Yorkshire, England Notes: I'm quite uncertain here, but Margaret Swale had two daughters christened on 24 Nov 1805, in Ingleby Arncliffe. Mary Swales, who never married, consistently listed this as her birthplace, throughout the census years, with the exception of 1891, when I believe it was her daughter who reported it incorrectly. Very likely the girls were not twins, but merely christened together. There is a Margaret/Peggy Swales, born in 1787 in Helmsley, who married David Boddy in 1807. They lived in Thirsk in 1841, and in Pickering in 1851 and 1861. She died 24 Aug 1872, and Thomas Swales, her brother was executor. Their father was Richard Swailes, of Helmsley. Thomas was christened 16 Nov 1795, and probably the same Thomas Swales, born in Sproxton in 1795, who lived in Thirsk in 1841 and 1851. There is another brother Richard, christened 19 jan 1793.
