Her name may be Hester. In "Orwell Remembered" she is listed as the widow
of Edward Cummings, but
there is no obvious match for him in the 1860 census. There is, however,
a Hester A. Cummins, age 21, in Bolyston in 1860, an apparently unmarried
servant. Interestingly, she is living in the household of an Almina Williams.
Almina/Elmina is the name of Edgar Hardie's third wife. It is not the
same Almina, however, just an odd coincidence.
