The 1891 census says she was born in Loftus, which is right next to Liverton. Entered the US on 22 Jun 1888 at the port of New York. Burial lot 1, Third Ave. Section O, permit no.16447, single depth vault. Georgina is a bit of an enigma. She never married, and a number of her records don't quite add up. The 1900 census shows her as born in February 1875, matching her death certificate, which says 22 Feb 1875, though her birth registration says March 1st. Her name at birth was Mary Ann, but she was christened Georgina (see birth registration images). It is also a mystery why she went to the US with George in 1888, and when and how she got back to the UK between 1888 and 1893, but there's little or no doubt she entered the US in both of those years. It is a little uncertain her father also returned to the UK, though they are both listed in the 1891 census. |
