name on 1900 census is Mary, and birthplace listed as VT, but pretty sure it's her. She is living with her daughter Lizzie, who had married someone named Bert Leazur or Gleaser in 1899. There may be some confusion with Mathilda's other daughter Mary. She is not found in the 1900 or 1910 census, but wrote a letter to John in 1887 from N. Monroe, NH. last name is from marriage records of a daughter. some documents list middle initial C. Not sure the Mathilda Gouchee in Lowell, MA is the same, but all the data matches. See seems to be no relation to the people she is living with. Grave in N. Monroe has name as Gautier |
