According to 1855 census, came to Albion or perhaps Oswego Co. in 1833. According to the 1895 Landmarks of Oswego County, Harvey (name recorded is Harry) and Harriet Wright were founding members of the Baptist Church of Albion, which was organized 26 December 1837. living with Jason & Mary in 1865. death/burial data from a transcription of the Albion Centre Cemetery on Tinker Tavern Road in Albion (see below). age on grave doesn't quite match with age on 1850 census, but close. HARVEY WRIGHT DIED Apr. 28, 1871 . 69 yrs. HARRIET S. wife of HARVEY WRIGHT DIED July 31, 1853 . 49 Yrs. MARY E. daughter of HARVEY & HARRIET WRIGHT died Aug. 18, 1838 aged 1 yr. & 6 mo. This Harriet must be the same Sally H. who appears in the 1850 census, since she died in 1853. The Harvey Wright living in Scriba is roughly the right age to be our Harvey, but I am not convinced he is the right one. In 1870, he was living with his daughter Mary Ann, who had remarried Samuel Thompson, afther her first husband, George Delano had died in the Civil War. They lived in Dix, Schuyler County. There is an additional daughter indicated on the 1840 census. In 1836, sold their land in Sandy Creek to Paul Wright, who we believe to be his father, for $1US. |
