Their family name in the 1855 census is badly misspelled as Viederour. That census indicates they came to Erie County around 1851. Carpenter from 1890 census could be his son, but no other record of his son working as a carpenter. name appears as Whittaker in 1880 census, with other errors (Leo is listed as a daughter!). Leopold appears in 1900 census (indexed as Lewis), wife Emma, son Leroy. Leroy F. Weidiger (spelling error) appears in 1920 census, age 28, Buffalo, ED 131, page 17B. Gravestone indicates he was a Freemason. |
