Obituary in the 8 Apr 1896 Pulaski Democrat:
Benjamin West died three miles south of Lee Center, March 29, age 80
years. The deceased had been a resident of that town for over 50 years. In
1858 he built the Lee Center hotel, which he conducted for about four
years. This property he then exchanged for that now owned by M.
Knight and carried on the grocery business for two years. He then bought
and moved on to the farm where he lived till his death. He has twice mar-
ried. His last wife, whose maiden name was Eunice Mosier, died July 15,
1894. The following children survive: Charles E., of Oswego; George E., of
Rome; Sidney G., of Lee Center; Mrs. Sarah McKeown, of Niagara Falls, and
Mrs. Nettie Felshaw, of Lee Center. He was brother of Mrs. Wm. Strong,
  of this village.
