I am not completely certain of the marriage to Julia Wilder, however, the facts seem to fit. In 1875, Julia is a widow, with daughter Minnie Thompson, and living next door to Alta Thompson Vincent, Charles' sister. Charles died 31 Oct 1874 (documented in the 1875 census), then they would have been married between 1870, and 1874. Julia also had a son Willie, who was born after the 1870 census, apparently out of wedlock. One source lists his death as 1884, but it was certainly 1874. |
