Estate number from will index; 317 Obituary from Scranton Republican, Friday, 12 Mar 1920 The many friends of Mrs. Elizabeth Jayne will be grieved to hear of her death Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks. She is survived by one daughter, Alice and one son, David; also her mother, Mrs. Sarah Swales; one sister, Mrs. Alice Hartman and two brothers, William and Ernest Swales. Funeral notice from Scranton Republican, Saturday, 13 Mar 1920 The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Swales Jayne will be held from her late home Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. 1900 census shows 4 children, 1 living, married 5 years. An April 14, 1897 newspaper entry lists Thomas & Sarah attending a grandchild's funeral in Nanticoke. This would have been one of Elizabeth's children. 1891 census shows her age 20. She was living for 1920 census, but died later that year. |
