Other sources say born 25 Feb 1590. Birth also reported as c1590, c1596 & c1597 in Winthrop, SFK, ENG & Neyland. Name also reported as Isack Sternes or Isaac Sternes. Winthrop also reported as Wenthrop. Relatives in England spell surname Stearn. Some sources report children as 4 boys & 4 girls. Came to America on the Arabella (unconfirmed). From another source: Isaac Stearns probably came to New England in the Winthrop Fleet. On the morning of 8 April 1630, the first five ships set sail from Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, and arrived at Salem on the 12th of June. The other six ships of the Winthrop Fleet sailed in May and arrived in July, bringing altogether about 700 passengers. Not being satisfied with the prospects of Salem, the colonists soon moved on to Charlestown and thence to Watertown where they settled.
