George Henry Stearns | |
Gender: Male Father: Henry B. Stearns Mother: Lodema Cook {Stearns Wilson} Born: C.1861, NY Census: 1865, Theresa, Jefferson County, NY [874] Census: 1880, Geddes, Onondaga County, NY [873] Died: E.After 1881
George Henry was institutionalized at the New York State Asylum for Idiots in/near Syracuse. He is mentioned in Lyman's will. The 1880 census lists him as unable to read or write, but in school. However, in 1892, there's a George Stearns, age 30, living with George W. Cook and family, and working as a fireman (the steam engine kind). Then in 1905, there is a married George W. Stearns, a RR Engineer, and on the same page a John Cook a fireman. Could be a coincidence. Distinct ancestors in tree: 44
