Death record shows died of consumption. Date may be 15 Sep 1897. Grave in N. Monroe has name as Gautier, and date of birth as 1814. This is consistent with the age on the 1870 census, but not the others. His use of the last name Laroch on the census in 1870 is strong evidence of his relationship with Benjamin Gauthier-Larouche. After Pepetue died in 1858, Thomas left for Canada with some of the younger children. In 1861, he was living in Rouville, near St. Cesaire, with sons Henry and Gilbert.
