probably born in Mexico, NY Grave in N. Monroe has name as Gautier, no date. It appears Henry was in the State Prison in VT in 1880 at Winsor. The census shows Henry Gochier (not sure of spelling; the census index has it as Gochea), age 28 (a little young, but close), a farmer, born NY, parents both born Canada. In 1887 he was living with his father and sister Mary in N. Monroe. We know this from her letter to John. Mary says, "Henry is still with us, and keeps his place...". |
