Had a note of a son named Jerry, but this could have been a mistaken entry for George (Jury). Sons John, Nicholas, David & Daniel all lived in Charlestown, Montgomery County in 1820. Peter Dop, son of Johannes and Maria Barbara (Ackert) Dop was born in Rhinebeck but came to beekman by 1762. He lived on a farm at the corner of Mountain and Freedom Roads and was very poor. In Dec. 1780 he was fined 5/1/3 for having one son with the enemy. This was probably his son John who had is estate confiscated in Half Moon, Albany County. John had previously served in the 12th regiment of the Albany Militia but in 1782 he was recorded as a Private in the First Battalion of the King's Royal Regiment of New York under sergeants Campbell, McIntire and Miller. He was m. to Margaret, dau. of Hendrick and Sarah (Flagler) Emigh of Beekman. From -- Settlers of the Beenkman Patent, Dutchess County, New York, Vol. 1, Historical Records, by Frank J.
